Make your way to one of London’s best new spin studios, One 10, for a carnival-themed, unforgettably sweaty spin session in Marylebone!
Venue: One 10
Class: Nirvana and Paceline
Location: Marylebone, W1U 3BL
Blowout or budget: First timers can take advantage of x2 rides for £20. Afterwards, you can buy bundles that make each class cost between £16-£20. The more you buy, the more you save!
Spinning is back on our radar thanks to the newly opened One 10. Perfect for after-work sweat sessions or even a cheeky client meeting (for the fitness fanatics out there), the studio is situated in central London between Marble Arch and Bond Street station.
The swanky pay-as-you-go boutique studio is home to two different classes – Paceline and Nirvana – meaning there’s two unique spin styles under the same roof. Both take advantage of Technogym’s latest spin bikes, which sync your ride stats to your individual online profile.
PACELINE OR NIRVANA?
Think of Nirvana as your party ride. Expect high-energy, loud music and an all-round fun experience! Each class is a full-body session where you ride to the rhythm and focus on raising your heart rate, rather than getting competitive. Nirvana provides complete escapism in a carnival-inspired atmosphere: you really do leave all your worries at the door.
Paceline is an intense workout of mainly seated spinning that focusses on power, speed and resistance. The class encourages you to compete with the cyclists around you as every push and pull is tracked on screen. Your RPM and Watts are illuminated for all to see and the instructor will call you out if you’re slacking. There really is nowhere to hide!
Both classes really motivate you to break those riding boundaries and dig deep!
Searching for some #SoberSeptember fun we clipped our cleats into the Nirvana class with instructor Leo. While pumping out the party tunes, Leo filled the room with his electric energy and expertly guided us through 45 perspiration-filled minutes – leaving both our legs and arms like jelly. High-octane spinning was interspersed with upper-body weight workouts. We left the class feeling incredibly elated all the while knowing delayed DOMS would be real the next day!
From the studios to the showers, One 10 really thinks of everything. The beautifully sleek yet compact changing rooms have everything you could need: Aveda products, fluffy towels and a body composition machine to track your progress!
A word of advice: if you’re going at peak times (before 9am and after 6pm) get changed into your fit kit before you go because there’s not a lot of room in the changing rooms.
One 1o was created by former GB Olympian Tim Benjamin with the vision to ‘break boundaries in cycling studios’ and we can confirm that they’ve succeeded! Nirvana’s festival beats and energetic routine meant that 45 minutes were over in a flash, while Paceline gets your hamstrings and glutes burning all the way to the finish line.
I love how the studio pairs adrenaline-fuelled workouts with accountability and progress reports so you can see where you’ve improved, and where you can challenge yourself. Being able to tap into your own profile and chart your progress ride after ride extends the experience beyond the average spin class. So whether you’re cycling toward a new PB, or just there for a club-inspired workout – saddle up!
