Join us for a three-day celebration of food and fitness at Balance Festival and read our top tips for the must-see events of the weekend
I’ve got that excited feeling I used to get as a child on Christmas Eve. Why? Because this weekend Balance Festival brings all our favourite health and wellness brands under one roof at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane. From 12-14 May, there’s a FOMO-inducing timetable of inspirational talks, fitness classes, cooking demos and meditation sessions, plus a market full of activewear and foodie stalls.
Brunch n Grind represent
Kat and I love nothing more than hanging out at events like this, mingling with our fellow sweat sisters and getting to know the faces behind the brands we love! We’re heading to Balance Festival on Friday for industry day and then on Saturday and Sunday when the event is open to the public. I’m so excited to gather inspiration for our blog and to continue growing our community both on and offline.
Don’t miss a thing
We’ll be covering all the best bits on social media so if you can’t make it down, keep an eye on our Instagram Stories: @brunchgrind and look out for our round-up on brunchngrind.co.uk next week to see what we got up to.
If you are going to be at Balance Festival, we’d love to hear from you and even meet up to say hello, so drop us a message on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. There are still tickets available on the door for £35, so it’s not too late to join us!
Balance Festival Hot List
To make your weekend even easier, we’ve picked out our edit of the best talks, classes and demos to go to:
11:00am – BOOMcycle spinning class
Start your day with an exhilarating BOOM spin class and forget all your troubles. Just bikes, beats and BOOM.
2.30pm – Barry’s Bootcamp: the Best workout in the World
We’re really excited to be doing our first Barry’s Bootcamp class next week at their new studio Barry’s West. So, before we get put through our paces, we’ll be here learning about the brand that pioneered boutique fitness in the UK.
5.00pm – Health Bloggers Community: the ethics of blogging
It’s really important to Kat and I that Brunch n Grind provides balanced, well-researched content on all areas of fitness and wellbeing so this panel discussion with nutritionist Pixie Turner (Plant-based Pixie), Natasha Lipman (blogger and Founder of Project Chronic) and personal trainer Ban Hass will be super-helpful!
18:00 – Wellness entrepreneurs
Career tips from Zanna Van Dijk, Kara Rosen (Plenish) and Caroline Lucey (Activewear) – YES PLEASE!
14:00pm – Xtend Barre
We’ve visited Xtend’s Marylebone studio for ballet-inspired workouts that lengthen and strengthen and we want more! Come along and feel the burn with us.
14:45pm – Re-Nourish Your Mind And Body
We follow Harley Street nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert on Insta and can’t wait to hear her views on optimum nutrition, relationships with food and her tips to eating like a nutritionist.
3:20pm – The Fitness Feast
Zanna Van Dijk, Clean Eating Alice, The Food Medic and Healthy Chef Steph – all our favourite wellness stars in one kitchen! We feel like we already know these girls and want to see what treats they’ll be cooking up.
12:30pm – The Breakfast Enthusiasts
With Tally Rye, Natalie Glaze, Natasha Kelly and Rhiannon Lambert this panel is all about our favourite meal of the day! Expect plenty of food porn, brunch talk and selfies galore!
3:00pm – Box HIIT by Another Space
Guaranteed to get your pulse racing and the sweat dripping, this 35-minutes class alternates between intense boxing moves and punishing floor work.
6:00pm – Will Williams Guided Meditation
After an introduction to vedic meditation at the Garnier Blends Room pop-up shop a few months ago, it’s time for Kat and I to have another go at clearing and calming our minds with this centuries-old practice.
See you at Balance Festival!
