Summer essentials: what we’re loving for June

Montage of summer essential products

From Shiseido sports foundation to Be Tribe superfood blends, this month we bring you all the summer essentials we can’t live without…

Manduka Yogitoes yoga towel, £50

With a summer of yoga pop-ups planned, I’ve been on the look out for a lightweight towel to give me extra support and grip when moving about on a mat which isn’t mine. With special silicone nubs to stop you sliding straight out of your downward dog, Manduka’s range of yoga towels are perfect for practice outside the studio this summer.

The towels come in a range of unique and beautiful designs commissioned exclusively for Manduka. I’m obsessed with this gorgeous blue and white gejia towel and the orange chakra print.

You’ll be glad to hear Yogitoes are also sustainable, the patented woven texture towels are made from no less than eight recycled plastic water bottles!

And it’s not just this summer that Manduka’s Yogitoes will come in handy, they’re also brilliant for hot yoga or if you’re like me and sweat a lot when doing any form of exercise! Place the towel over your mat to absorb any drops and pop in the washing machine when you’re done.

Be Tribe superfood blends, £25

Superfooding has never been so easy, delicious and accessible thanks to Be Tribe.

All of their blends contain plant-based protein to keep you feeling satisfied whilst feeding your muscles hair and skin. Each blend also contains adaptogens, from root herbs to medicinal mushrooms, these natural ingredients help to increase the body’s ability to reduce the damaging effects of stress. Bonus!

What I love about these blends is that they contain zero nasties: so what you get is pure and most importantly natural.

Be Tribe superfood blend

I’m using Glow On at the moment, it’s packed with ingredients such pea protein, chia, maca, bee pollen, turmeric and cinnamon. It’s really versatile to use, you can add it to your morning smoothie, overnight oats or dinner dressing. Basically anything you want to pimp up with goodness!

With so many delicious varieties to choose from try the Taster Gang and let me know your favourite.

Snow + Rock Hydro Flask water bottle, £24

You’ll never find me without my trusty water bottle so swapping my Evian for something a little more eco-friendly was a long time coming.

With a deluge of sustainable water bottles now on the market it’s hard to know which brand to go for. What I love about the Hydro Flask from Snow + Rock is that it’ll keep your water icy cold for up to 24 hours on a hot sunny day and your coffee steaming for up to 6 hours when the weather drops. I’ve been packing my flask with ice and water in the morning and enjoying an icy blast mid-workout at lunch!

These flasks are available in a variety of colours and sizes and will be my hydration hero when sight-seeing in Paris this July.

Shiseido WetForce Sports BB SPF 50+, £32

This new sports foundation hit the high street in May and it’s safe to say it’s one of my make-up saviours.

When exercising outdoors we all want UV protection and a natural looking complexion. What strikes me most is that despite the high sun protection factor, the cream is dewy, lightweight and most importantly comfortable to wear in the heat.

Sports foundation

The science bit… Shiseido’s clever WetForce Technology has the ability to boost the UV protection veil the more you sweat, so there’s no need to worry about sun protection when you’re all hot and flustered. This foundation works as hard as you!

WetForce Sports BB is available in three skin tones: light, medium and dark. Squeeze a small amount on your finger, dot onto the cheeks, and quickly smooth over the skin before working out and you’re ready to go. Simples.

IZIPIZI sunglasses and sun readers, £30

France’s famous eyewear brand, IZIPIZI, caught my attention in Selfridges the other week. Not only are their sunglasses stylish and affordable, they also come in a range of optical powers which is perfect for poolside reading this summer.

Orange sunglasses

This orange frame is cute and playful and looks great paired with a navy polka dot dress, while these white mirror shades shout seaside style.

I’m also a fan of the tortoise range. These green-mirrored glasses inject a fashionable edge if you’re wearing something more understated and casual.

Reef Escape flip flops, £22

Now that the warmer weather’s here, I love freeing my feet and going to barre in flip flops!

Reef flip flops

I’m obsessed with these turquoise marble flip flops from Reef at the moment. They’re made with soft cushioned rubber, a contoured foot bed, arch support and super strap strength. Available in white, blush pink and black marble too, I’ll be ordering a pair in every colour.

Happy shopping!
